Best club in Berkeley with avant-garde metal

Berkeley is not an exceptions. People just love to listening live music. That is a really interesting statistics because since 2004 the overall number of avant-garde metal clubs in Berkeley increased over 22 percent. This statistic has been made from 2002 after Cat Club has been established by Colton Mcclure. This change is a result of cultural ant ethnic changes in Berkeley across last decades.

The lost decade of club music 2010-2020

What happened in this decade is that there are a lot more people in the city to do live music with their instruments. You are talking about 20-30 percent more people in the city to do a show with a metal instrument in 2014 than in 2010. So this is actually really positive statistics.

You see, I was really into this music, so a couple years ago I went and got a copy of this book, Live in Berkeley, by John Stolzenberg. One thing in this book was to get a sense of what the average age is of people who are into live music, and what the average age was in 2005.

So you will find out how many people in the city are 25-55, and how old those people were in 2005. So it's very interesting to see which of the three demographic groups is the most popular music genre in Berkeley. And it shows that the age is the biggest driver.

A lot of what people listen to is electronic music. People tend to listen to music that is older than their own generation, and that is probably why the most popular musical genres that were on their radar are the kind that were around when the city had not been really growing in population or growth. What are you reading about today? I love this book by Richard Dawkins, The God Delusion .

He has also written a really important book about how the Bible's teachings were used by fascists in Nazi Germany for some of their propaganda. That sounds like it is one of the most interesting books that someone else wrote. I really like The Unhewn Throne: How the Rise of Trump and the Revival of Christian America Could Transform America, which is also a book by a really great professor of history at California State.

Is what you are seeing a response to the economic crisis and the globalisation that seems to be happening around us?

That's interesting because there seems to be different reason for that phenomena.
