There is nothing to do around the club unless you wanna eat at the bar. I've been here twice and I was not able to enjoy the party so I don't recommend it for anyone. The vibe on the second floor is really great.
The bartenders and people who come here all know each other, so I'm sure this place was very chill before they started doing the "bros dance" thing.
And the club was still very chill. The vibe is great, the bartenders and the people who come are super cool! But I feel it's the food that's not right, there is a huge number of sandwiches here that don't taste like what I've experienced in Montreal restaurants. And they're very expensive.
The bottom level is where you'll find the counter. It's my favorite, because it's a bit closer to the kitchen, so you can get a little bit of the action. It's also a bit quieter, so if you're not too hungry, you can just get a drink or a sandwich.
And there is a ton of alcohol, and not enough food for two. I don't know what the point of this place is other than to get drunk at a bar! I am not sure if this club really has a name, as it has a few "likes" on the club's main page. I was in for my first night there. The bartenders were great.
Their prices weren't too bad. It's a good spot if you want to have a good time. The place looked fun, but the party got really rowdy. I've always known it to be a great spot to catch up-and-coming acts and local favorites. So, when my colleagues and I decided to check out a show there in May, we were excited to relive some of the memories that The Company House had provided us in the past. As we walked in, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia wash over me. The interior of the club is still the same as it's always been - dimly lit, with dark wood accents and a cozy, intimate atmosphere that makes you feel like you're part of something special. The stage was set up perfectly for the evening's performance, and the DJ booth looked like it had just been upgraded with some new equipment. But, as we made our way to the bar to grab a drink before the show started, I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. And then, it happened - one of the bouncers approached us and asked for ID. Now, I'm not one to complain about being carded, but this guy's demeanor was. We exchanged a few pleasantries with him, but he seemed put off by our presence from the get-go. My friend even joked that it must be some kind of record for most ID checks in one night - and that only made things worse. I've seen this before, folks, but it's always frustrating when you're trying to enjoy a night out with friends. Unfortunately, this unfriendly interaction set the tone for the rest of our evening at The Company House. We didn't feel like we were part of the 'in-crowd' or that anyone was particularly interested in making sure we had an enjoyable experience. I've spoken to some friends who have had similar experiences with bouncers and staff there, so maybe it's just a case of having high standards?
The music itself was top-notch, though - the DJ did an amazing job getting the crowd moving with some great tunes. But even that couldn't make up for the lackluster service we received from the staff. As I sat there, sipping on my drink and trying to enjoy the show, I couldn't help but think about all the other nights out I've had in Halifax over the years - the ones where everything just clicked into place. The music was great, the company was fantastic, and the vibe was electric. And then it hit me - those were the days when we didn't have so many distractions to worry about. Whatever the reason, I do hope they take steps to address their customer service issues - because when everything clicks into place, it's truly one of the best places in the city to enjoy live music.
